HIV #PreventionRevolution
A social media initiative to revitalize interest in HIV Prevention
Why PreventionRevolution?
We need a PreventionRevolution because everyday more than 7000 people are newly infected with HIV worldwide. When people learn about HIV and act, new infections are preventable.
What is the goal?
We aim to inspire and encourage people using social media to know more about preventing HIV in the lead up to World AIDS Day. The goal is to make #PreventionRevolution trend on Twitter in as many places as possible on 1 December 2010. ?
What will we do?
Starting October 26 for six consecutive Tuesdays we will introduce different themes related to HIV prevention via discussions on facebook, twitter, and AIDSspace.
?
We will post five animated films, quizzes and polls as conversation starters. We will ask people to show their support with a special PreventionRevolution image on their profile pictures. The initiative will be hosted on the UNAIDS facebook page.
What are the themes?
Week 1: Why do we need a PreventionRevolution? ● Week 2: Condoms ● Week 3: HIV testing?●?Week 4: Knowledge and HIV ● Week 5: Gender Equality and Human Rights ● Week 6: Join the PreventionRevolution! ?
How can I engage?
